ADVANCEMENT TRAINING PROGRAM

PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY
The growth of the novice wrestler is dependent upon the triangle of equal involvement and communication between the wrestler, the parent, and the coach. The system is only as strong as the combined efforts and collaboration of the three key players.
The Advancement Training Program allows beginning wrestlers of all ages to attain a winning attitude, develop technique, and build strength and other essential skills for success.
As skills are mastered, wrestlers have the opportunity to advance through shirt levels and learn more advanced techniques.
Wrestlers who complete the Advancement Training Program enter the more advanced, competitive rooms better prepared, well-versed in wrestling vernacular, and most importantly, with a strong foundation of strength, skills, and technique upon which they can continue to develop. These athletes have proven to be more confident and successful in the sport at all levels.

WHAT IS ADVANCEMENT TRAINING:
The Earlham Wrestling Advancement Training (Advancement Training Program) program introduces new wrestlers to the sport, building a strong foundation of skills and technique to prepare them for all levels of competitive wrestling. This program is modeled after a club program in the Omaha area.

The Advancement Training Program program, much like the belt system in martial arts, is individually paced. Wrestlers advance through a series of levels and earn a new colored shirt at each level. Testing occurs monthly or when the coaches feel the wrestler is ready for advancement. Once your wrestler has earned the red shirt, they have completed the program, and are ready to move into the folkstyle white room.

This program is designed to make sure your son or daughter gets a proper start in the sport by making sure that fundamental strengths, skills, and techniques are set in their early wrestling career. This solid foundation gives us the base on which to build great wrestlers.
